Trying to decide what stock to buy can be a hard decision as it's easy to just go along with the crowd but this is part of the reason as to why hours of research is spent looking at all aspects for what to bring to the shop and what can be improved.
When looking at unique items I will often go to trade shows where other independent businesses promote products that they have made and also speak to the owners which helps to have a good working relationship.
For any stock that comes in from stores that have had to close down I always try to test any electronics before putting anything up for sale as it's never known what item(s) could be received and I prefer to know that they work before selling them, any non electrical items that come from these stores are checked for defects unless they are proved to be brand new.
When it comes to anime figures/Funko Pops I will research what anime/movies/series are popular and look to see if there's news about any new upcoming series etc. this doesn't mean that I neglect any of the less popular ones as I know that everyone has their own taste in what they like, I will often go over many various websites to find out what new items are coming as well as what items haven't been able to sell as I want to give everyone a chance of owning something that they might've missed. The anime figures will be expanding even more in the future as a visit to Japan is being planned where I'll be hoping to get a deal with a company or 2 to get various figures from a very wide range.
The main thing I always aim for is to sell items at a reasonable price that will help save you money and not break the bank, to give you an idea as to wanting you to save money 1 item that will be coming soon retails for £295 it will be on sale with me for at most £175 (not including p&p) once all checks have been done.
